Low Carbon Across the South East (LoCASE) Evaluation & Summative Assessment
Nautilus were awarded the contract to evaluate the £18m EU-funded Low Carbon Across the South East (LoCASE) project.
Led by Kent County Council, the project draws together a partnership of key organisations including East Sussex County Council, Essex County Council, Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, Thurrock Council and the University of Brighton.
The LoCASE project is a business support programme across the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP)area, which includes Essex, East Sussex and Kent areas, that helps businesses optimise their use of resources and adopt low carbon solutions that improve performance in terms of resilience, profitability and competitiveness, and at the same time contributing to the protection and preservation of the environment.
Nautilus were commissioned to provide an independent evaluation and Summative Assessment of the delivery and achievements of the LoCASE project from inception through to final completion.
The assessment examines performance against financial and output targets, and management and governance of the project. An extensive consultation was undertaken to gather detailed feedback from over 250 businesses receiving support. Whilst the Summative Assessment report is a requirement of all EU-funded projects, the wider evaluation report is already being used to shape and inform potential successor projects.
